What is an escape room?

An escape room is a real life experience where players are in a themed room, and need to work as a team to solve a series of puzzles and hints in order to escape within the 60 minute time limit.

Our escape rooms are ideally suited to 2-6 players, but can accommodate up to 8. We are able to accommodate larger groups, please call us for more details as we may be able to run two rooms at the same time for you. Our quiz rooms can accommodate 4-12 players.

We wont actually lock you in, and will be monitoring you constantly, so if you need to leave at any point we can let you out. We can also show you the room before you go in to play to help settle your nerves if that helps.

You can book online via the website. Once you select an available time slot you will have 20 minutes to complete the payment in order to secure the booking. Or if you prefer to book over the phone you can call us on 01626 833250 / 07887731773.

Our escape rooms are suitable for adults and children over 7 years old. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Escape The Game is a live game and once a booking is confirmed we can not accept any cancellations or give any refunds. However you can reschedule the game for another time by giving us at least 48 hours notice before your booking is due to take place. If for any reason we have to cancel a booking, we will of course let you know as soon as possible via the contact method given and will issue you with a gift voucher to the full amount or offer you an alternative booking.

You are welcome to bring extra people to join your game as long as the total number of players does not exceed the capacity for the room you have booked. Extra players will ideally be paid for prior to your arrival.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your booking. If there is a group playing before you please quietly wait outside and we will come and get you when your game is ready. We do always try to keep to allocated booking slots, but if for any reason your game is running late we will try to text you to keep you updated, and appreciate your understanding.

Food and drink is not allowed to be taken into the room. No alcohol is allowed on site. If any team member is under the influence of alcohol or drugs they will be turned away and no refund will be given.

Please contact us for accessibility details.

No photos or videos are allowed to be taken inside our rooms. You will be asked to leave phones in reception (or in your car). Please also do not reveal any of the answers to the puzzles to anyone as they may wish to play in the future and it ill spoil it for them!

There are no dress code requirements. So whether you come in comfy casual clothes or glammed up for a night out, you wont feel out of place.

We have free parking available on site, and further on road parking opposite.

We are located opposite the House of Marbles which has a café and restaurant. There is a nearby petrol station providing food and drink (0.2 miles away), and within the centre of Bovey Tracey there are a range of cafes, restaurants, pubs & hotels (0.9 miles away).

Make payment (please note that whilst we can not issue refunds we are happy to reschedule your booking in the event of illness or any other unavoidable circumstance, please just contact us 24 hours prior to your booking.

You will receive a confirmation email and a text with a link to our disclaimer form. Please send the link to every one who is taking part. (If your booking is a surprise, please let us know and we can provide paper versions for your team to fill out on arrival instead so as not to ruin the surprise of their visit!)

On the day of your booking

Free on site parking is available on our fore court directly outside.

please arrive 5 mins before your booking. If there is another group before you please wait outside and we will come and find you when your game is ready.

Your host will  explain that when you enter the room you will be asked to watch two videos, one giving you a briefing about what to expect and the other telling you about the game. You will also be asked to leave any phones, bags, food & drink in the reception area (or to return them to your car if you prefer). This is also the opportunity for any members of the team who are concerned about any anxiety or agrophobia to have a quick look inside the room before the game starts so as to lessen any worry before entering. (You would be surprised as to how common this concern is. We will not actually lock you in the room so you are free to leave at any point, although we are confident that once in the room you wont feel the need to!)

Your game will then start. You will have 60 minutes to try and solve the puzzles and crack the codes. None of our games require any prior knowledge before playing them, everything you need to help you will be in the room. There is also nothing physically demanding or scary within the room. When you escape or when your time is up we will ask if we can take your photograph, and we will also, if wanted, talk you through any puzzles which you did not complete.
